It's not just during the election period that you can feel the growing gaps between the different populations in Israeli society. There are people, especially women, who have decided that this is not a decree from heaven and are working to change the reality on the ground. Last night (Tuesday) over 50 organizations that promote living together met at an event organized by the Partnership Fund.

The Shutafut Fund During the “Swords of Iron” War

The projects have expressed clearly the importance of their work and the support provided by the Fund.

Voice of the Entrepreneurs:

Beginning on October 7, 2023, we experienced extremely difficult and sorrowful days, a profound shock and an inability to fully grasp the sights and the sounds that defy words. There was deep concern and anxiety for the hostages and the missing, grief and solidarity with bereaved families and the wounded, and great uncertainty about the future. At the same time, a powerful spirit of resilience emerged, expressed through acts of giving, volunteering, and solidarity.

Although the war halted all project activities, at the onset of the war the Shutafut Fund sent a letter of appreciation and support to the projects, expressing our belief that even in times of emergency, as in routine times, they would continue to do their best for their communities. They are talented, dedicated, and caring social entrepreneurs and leaders, the most precious asset of the Shutafut Fund.

Since the outbreak of the Swords of Iron war, we have accompanied and spoken with all the projects in order to closely understand their activities and determine whether, under the difficult circumstances in the country, they are able to continue carrying out initiatives that promote shared life in Israel. We found that more than 90% of the projects have continued their activities, adapting and updating their work in response to the current situation.

“Now more than ever, we draw strength from the healing nature of our activity, from the understanding that the connection to the land and the encounter between communities give people strength and a way to emerge from the helplessness of this difficult time.”
